The Heritage of  "Yes, and..."

Improv as we know it didn't start in comedy clubs; it started as a social tool. In the 1920s, social worker Viola Spolin developed "Theater Games" to help immigrant children in Chicago cross cultural and language barriers. She realized that through play, people stop "overthinking" and start connecting. In the 1950s, these games evolved into professional performance, but the core mission remained: using spontaneity to build community and solve problems in real-time.

The Modern Professional Power-Tool

Today, improv is no longer just for actors. It is a "soft skills" gym for the world's leading companies. Organizations use these workshops because they simulate the high-pressure, unpredictable nature of the modern workplace in a safe, low-stakes environment.
